After the death of her dog, a girl takes home an armadillo specimen from the science room. As she navigates her relationships with her sister and friends, and her grandmother moving in, she begins to look outward at the world and inward at herself.

A work of children's literature in which a girl tentatively explores her connection to herself and the world through everyday events.
