This novel follows Mitsuo, a young man who keeps growing tomatoes in greenhouses on a small remaining patch of land surrounded by housing estates on the outskirts of Utsunomiya. Urbanization after rapid economic growth, the transformation of farmland and family, and raw desires around sex and money press into daily life like thunder rumbling in the distance.
