Description

The Shibata Renzaburo Award is a Japanese literary prize sponsored by Shueisha and supported by the Hitotsubashi Sogo Foundation. Established in 1988 to honor the achievements of Shibata Renzaburo, it selects writers and works from novels published between July 1 of the previous year and June 30 of the current year that can truly captivate a broad readership. Winners receive a commemorative item and a prize of 3 million yen, and it is typically announced in the December issue of Shōsetsu Subaru.
