Description

Established in 1995 to commemorate the 13th anniversary of Terayama Shuji's death, this award selects tanka collections published the previous year by mid-career male poets. Winners receive a certificate and 300,000 yen prize money, and the selection meeting and award ceremony are held simultaneously. It ended with the 21st edition in 2016.
