怖いかと思ったら、とても悲しい物語でした。
貧乏な働き者の百姓夫婦に、男の子が生まれた。が、地主から、山に捨てる様に言われる。 母親は赤子を抱き、山奥で山姥になって子供を育てる事に…村の貧しい者たちも、次々と赤子を捨てに行く。女の人が 赤子を抱き上げ、山に消えていく、やがて、この村には若者が居なくなる。でも、この物語はハッピー・エンドで終わる。 村が窮地になった時、山から、山姥と共に多くの若者が下りて村を救済する。切なかったけど、最後はほっとした。
