Description
The Shogakukan Children Publishing Culture Award was established by Shogakukan in 1952 to commemorate its 30th founding anniversary, initially in two categories of literature and painting. It became independent as the literature category from 1960, and from 1996 was integrated and renamed to its current name, contributing to the development of children's literature. Winners receive a bronze statue as the main prize and 1 million yen as the special prize.
