• This book contains magic

  I haven't sat still to read in a long, long time...I succumb to Audible so I can paint or do something with my hands while I'm listening to a story. But this story isn't on Audible and I'm thankful for that. It's all encompassing and reading it is like a spell song. It works magic. Magic is worked through music, painting, poetry, and really good stories. This is a really good story.

• Intriguing and hugely imaginative

  An intriguing and hugely imaginative book with the added benefit that Robert Holdstock is also a superb writer. This is one of those very rare books that just doesn't let go, even when you're not reading it you can't help thinking about it. All in all a fabulous follow up to the magnificent and award winning Mythago Wood which also works as an award winning stand alone book. If you've never been to Ryhope Wood take a visit, but be warned once you've been you'll want to go back.

• Mythago magic

  I loved Mythago Wood, and this companion piece was even better, in many ways. The characters were real and complete, and the world they live in is an amazing creation. These books appeal to me on so many levels. I love history and myth, and both of those topics come alive in a fascinating way. Very powerful, moving, and imaginative. Not your everyday "magic" book, but a real world and a powerful novel.

  Una degna continuazione del Mythago Wood! I personaggi che riescono a oltrepassare e a vivere nella foresta Ryhope sono forti, sensibili umani ma nello stesso tempo mitologici e alieni. Non smetterò mai a dire che tutta la serie e strepitosa!!!
