Description
The All Yomimono Newcomer Award is the open submission newcomer award of the fiction magazine All Yomimono published by Bungeishunju, established in 1952 (initially "All Newcomer Cup"). From the 17th edition in late 1960, it adopted the current name, and there was a period in 2008 when it was unified with the All Yomimono Mystery Novel Newcomer Award due to regulation changes. Submissions are limited to unpublished works, with a guideline of 50 to 100 pages on 400-character manuscript paper. The typical deadline is June 20, winners are announced in the November issue of All Yomimono, and the winning work receives a certificate and 500,000 yen prize money. Web submissions began with the 98th edition in 2018, and from the 101st edition in 2021, it was renewed as the specialized "All Yomimono Historical Fiction Newcomer Award" for historical and period novels.
