Waga Tamashii wa Kagayaku Mizu Nari: Genpei Hokuetsu Ryushi is a play in which Kunio Shimizu reimagines the northern Echigo front of the Genpei conflict through the language of modern theatre. The voices and bodies of history's defeated figures emerge in poetic, forceful dialogue charged with the memory of war and the passions of those moving toward ruin.
