Golem x Girls brings together artificial life reminiscent of the golem legend, magical motifs, and the relationships among girls in the brisk style of a light novel. Published from a newcomer-award honorable mention, it became the first volume of a short series.
Drawing on the golem legend, the girls' noisy and uncanny everyday life begins to move.
The story centers on the seemingly perfect teacher Gurou Sakanagi, the poor but upright Suzune Usagawa, and the immortal girl Gankyuu Eguriko. Around the motifs of the apple and the insects, an uncanny world unfolds, asking what life and bonds mean beneath its bizarre names and brutal imagery.
Beyond the absurd names and unsettling violence lies an urgent story about life.
