The MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award is a Japanese open submission newcomer literary prize sponsored by Media Factory, an in-house brand of KADOKAWA, since 2004.

Description
Preliminary screenings are held four times a year every three months, and works receiving semi-grand prize or higher are guaranteed publication by MF Bunko J. Starting from the 13th edition, a Grand Prize is awarded to particularly outstanding works. Works that pass the third screening receive the Challenge Prize, consisting of 20,000 yen monthly activity support funds over three months. As of the 19th edition, prizes include Grand Prize with 3 million yen, Excellence Award with 1 million yen, Outstanding Award with 500,000 yen, and Semi-Grand Prize with 100,000 yen, with evaluation sheets sent to all selected works. Postal submissions have been discontinued, and only web submissions are accepted.
