Description

A literary award named after Yamamoto Shugoro, who was active mainly in the fields of popular literature and historical fiction during the Showa period, given to novels and literary works with outstanding narrative quality. Organized by the Shincho Literary Promotion Association, sponsored by Shinchosha. Established in 1988, announced once a year in May. Winners receive a commemorative item as the main prize and 1 million yen as the cash prize.
