Nitta Jiro Literary Award

にったじろうぶんがくしょう

A non-open literary prize hosted by the Nitta Jiro Memorial Foundation. Open to works based on historical or contemporary facts, nonfiction literature, or works inspired by the natural world, announced once a year. Winners receive a barometer as the main prize and 1,000,000 yen in prize money.

Description

A Japanese literary award sponsored by the Nitta Jiro Memorial Society, Public Interest Incorporated Foundation. It targets works first published in the previous year—regardless of whether they deal with history or the present—and focuses on nonfiction literature or works drawing material from the natural world. It is announced once a year in 'Shosetsu Shincho.' The winner receives a barometer as the principal prize and 1 million yen as the special prize.
