Description

Established by Maebashi City in 1993 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of its municipal incorporation, in honor of poet Hagiwara Sakutaro. Organized by Maebashi City and the Hagiwara Sakutaro Award Society, operated with cooperation from Shinchosha and sponsorship from Towabank. The winning work and judges' critiques are announced in 'Shincho' magazine, and the award ceremony is held at the Maebashi Literature Museum.
