Description

Based on Hirabayashi Taiko's will, with the intention of 'those who devoted their lives to literature but were not sufficiently rewarded,' this literary award selects one outstanding novel and one piece of criticism each year. From the 17th edition in 1989, it was hosted by Kodansha, and ended with the 25th edition in 1997.
