Description

A literary award sponsored by Shinchosha's Shincho Literature Promotion Association, commemorating the achievements of writer Yukio Mishima. It is awarded to one emerging work that paves the way for the future of literature. Eligible genres include fiction, criticism, poetry, plays, and more. Winners receive a commemorative item and a prize of 1 million yen. Selection committee members serve four-year terms and rotate every four years.
